I drove down from my hometown of DC with a bunch of friends for these shows. The Roanoke Times called the concerts the "cultural event of the year." It was an unexpectedly friendly and mellow scene and I got the sense that there were a lot of locals in the audience who were super psyched and ate up everything the band gave them.
This show and the one the night before were top notch. The band seemed to be having fun. I blew out the pipes the previous night but the music beat my hangover.
The highlights from the first set are Cumberland Blues, Big RR Blues and Let it Grow. The second set is a sentimental favorite. The Scarlet-Fire is pretty short but tight. Crazy Fingers out of space just killed me and this trucking is one of my all-time favorites for that song. Same with Sugar Mag - a solid, energy-filled rendition.

My very first show in my hometown of Roanoke. It is without question, a very very well played show. The crowd goes abosuletely nuts in the 2nd set, it's fun to just hear them and the excitement.

I have always loved this show, nice solid show during what I consider a weak year.
Noce clean aud tape too.
Worth a listen when looking for something new.
